Bitcoin: the oldest rail, and the least forgiving
Bitcoin is the option most people think of first and the one that punishes carelessness hardest. It removes the bank from the equation and adds two variables in its place: how long the network takes to confirm, and how much the value moves while it does.
Deposit
The cashier issues a deposit address; you send the amount from your own wallet and wait for the network to confirm. Once the required confirmations are in, the lei equivalent appears in the gaming balance. On a quiet network this is quick. On a congested one it is not, and the wait is a property of the blockchain rather than of the platform.
Withdrawal
The payout goes to an address in your wallet and becomes publicly visible on the blockchain once broadcast — which is, counterintuitively, an advantage: you hold independent proof that the payment left, useful if anything needs clarifying later through the complaints route. The first request still waits for the operator’s KYC file, as described in the withdrawals guide.
The two variables
| Variable | What it does | How to manage it |
|---|---|---|
| Confirmation time | Delays crediting during congestion | Check the network fee before sending |
| Price volatility | Changes the credited lei amount | Use a stablecoin for large sums |
| Network fee | Reduces the amount that arrives | Avoid many small transfers |
| Address accuracy | Determines whether funds exist at all | Copy, never type; send a test first |
The stablecoin alternative and the general risk picture are covered in the crypto payments guide.
No undo button
A wrong address means the funds are gone permanently. There is no cancellation at the operator and none in the network, and support genuinely cannot help — not through unwillingness but because nobody can. The only real protection is the routine used by everyone who moves serious amounts: a small test transfer, confirmed, before the real one.
What crypto does not change
The gaming balance stays in lei whichever coin funded it. Bonuses, rollover and limits behave identically. Gambling income tax is withheld at source by the organiser under Romanian law, with the rates in force available from ANAF. And identification remains mandatory: the blockchain is pseudonymous, the gaming account is not. Anyone choosing crypto to bypass KYC has misunderstood which of the two the obligation attaches to.
Who it suits
Players who already hold Bitcoin and handle wallets confidently. For somebody who would buy coin specifically in order to deposit, the route adds cost and risk with no advantage over a card or an e-wallet like Neteller. And if the goal is strict control over spending, the right instrument is not the choice of coin but a limit set in the responsible gambling section.
