Crypto: independence from banks, not from rules
Cryptocurrency payments solve a very concrete problem — they do not depend on banking hours and do not appear on a bank statement. What they do not solve is any of the obligations attached to the operator’s licence. Confusing those two things is the most expensive mistake in this section.
Open the cashierDeposit
You select the coin in the cashier and receive a deposit address plus — critically — the network the transfer must use. You send from your own wallet, wait for the required confirmations, and the lei equivalent appears in the balance. Conversion happens at the rate applying when the transaction is processed, so a gap can open between the value you sent and the value credited, wider with volatile coins than with stablecoins.
Withdrawal
The payout goes to an address in your wallet on the same network. Arrival time depends on the network and the confirmation count, not on the operator. Once broadcast, the transaction is publicly verifiable, which gives you independent proof that the payment left — useful if a case has to be escalated through the complaints route. The first request waits for KYC, as covered in the withdrawals guide.
The mistake with no reverse gear
A wrong address, or the right address on the wrong network, means the money is gone. There is no undo at the operator and none in the blockchain. The safeguard used by everyone who moves large amounts is unglamorous and effective: send a small test, confirm it arrived, then send the rest.
| Specific risk | How it is avoided |
|---|---|
| Wrong network | Copy exactly the network named in the cashier |
| Manually typed address | Always copy and paste, never transcribe |
| Volatility between send and confirm | Prefer a stablecoin for larger amounts |
| Unexpected network fees | Check the fee before broadcasting |
What stays the same
The gaming balance remains in lei regardless of the coin used. Bonuses, rollover and limits behave identically. Gambling income tax is withheld at source by the organiser under Romanian law, with rates and thresholds available from ANAF. And identification remains mandatory, because the obligation attaches to the account rather than to the rail. The blockchain is pseudonymous; the gaming account is not.
Who it suits
Players who already hold cryptocurrency and know how to handle it safely. For somebody who would acquire coin specifically to make a deposit, the route adds a layer of cost and risk without any real benefit over a card or an e-wallet such as Skrill. The coin-specific guide is on the Bitcoin page, and the full channel comparison in the payments section.
